As a Senior Design Manager at Superhuman, you will lead & mentor our product design team, guiding the creation of delightful & remarkable user experiences. You will be responsible for design operations & strategy, fostering collaboration, & ensuring that our design output aligns with Superhuman's high standards of quality & innovation.
ROLE
- Build & manage a high-performing design team through mentorship, coaching, & clear goal-setting to drive both individual & collective growth.
- Partner with Product & Engineering leadership to plan resources, establish milestones, & ensure smooth delivery of design work across projects.
- Drive design quality & innovation by establishing robust review processes, feedback mechanisms, & design tooling infrastructure.
- Create & champion point-of-views on resolving UX debt & identifying opportunities for design innovation across products.
- Lead the planning & execution of discovery projects to develop new features & design directions, while de-risking design complexities.
- Guide the team in elevating their craft across UI/UX design, visual design, & product copy through hands-on mentorship & structured training.
- Develop & implement day-to-day design management processes & enablement tools to facilitate efficient, high-quality design work.
- Foster a team culture that embraces extraordinary quality, remarkable attention to detail, & continuous innovation.
- Provide strategic design leadership in project execution, from conception through launch, ensuring alignment with company principles & quality standards.
- Build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, & senior leadership to influence product strategy & champion design excellence.
SOUND LIKE YOU?
- Experience: You have 6+ years of experience in consumer-facing technology companies or startups, with 2+ years of experience leading & managing design teams.
- Leadership: You have a track record of leading & developing high-performing, inclusive, & mission-driven design teams. Building a culture of inclusion is not an afterthought. Its the first thing you champion as a project leader, people manager, & teammate, & are comfortable leading through an inclusive lens.
- Expertise: You have a demonstrated mastery of product design, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, typography, & layout & visual hierarchy, with an ability to coach & elevate others' craft through thoughtful mentorship
- Vision: You have led the design strategy of a product, turning long-term objectives into initiatives that you & your teams successfully executed against
- AI Enthusiast: You believe AI will revolutionize both how we work & the experiences we create for our customers. Driven by passion & curiosity, you embrace AI to up-level your team's productivity & impact, creating delight, delivering exceptional quality, & embracing the extraordinary in everything you do.

- Location: We're open to you joining us in our San Francisco office or from a home office anywhere in North or South America.
SALARY INFO
Our US-based salaries for this role range from $200,000 - $235,000. Our Canada-based salaries for this role range from $182,000 - $215,000 CAD. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, & company stock options.
You might notice our salary ranges are quite broad - that's because our talented workforce is distributed across North & South America. We tailor our compensation to each location to make sure we're competitive in every market.
For team members outside of the US we employ & pay through an Employer of Record (EOR). We take a location-based pay approach & compensation for this role is dependent on several factors such as location, work experience, job-related skills, business needs, & market demands.
