As a Senior Technical Writer within the Engineering Department, you communicate the product to our users. Your mission is to learn the behavior of new features & create documentation geared toward both technical & non-technical audiences that explains how to use the product, along with the best practices for doing so. We have a lot of reverence for our documentation, & youll work with an enthusiastic conglomerate of writers & product managers who are passionate about the product being documented in a way that makes it as accessible & successful as possible. You will contribute exemplary content, support the development of the documentation site, & help shape & steer our content vision & strategy.
- Produce high-quality documentation that supports our users & our product strategy.
- Ensure fulfillment of our content strategy through articulate reviews, examples, & guided revision.
- Collaborate with product managers to determine the best strategy for documenting the evolving product landscape.
- Develop & maintain Jekyll templates, layouts, includes, & other structural elements.
- Contributes to defining the overall structure of the documentation site, including its information architecture & methods of content reuse.
- Look for opportunities to explore & experiment with novel documentation technologies & styles.
Preferred Experience Level: 5+ years of writing & delivering compelling, technical documentation for complex software, with 2+ years in a senior or lead role. Experience with Jekyll/Liquid (or other web templating languages) preferred.
Education: B.A. or B.S. degree in Professional & Technical Writing (or related field/degree)
