Overview

As a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on AWS networking, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, & maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, & security of our network systems, both on-premises & in the cloud. In addition, your unique experience with internal systems will provide valuable insights that external candidates might not possess, allowing you to contribute to the enhancement of our internal processes & systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, & manage complex network architectures within the AWS cloud environment, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, & routing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud-based solutions with our internal systems & applications.
• Lead the deployment & configuration of network components, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, & scalability.
• Optimize network performance by conducting regular assessments, tuning configurations, & diagnosing performance issues.
• Implement & maintain security best practices within AWS, including IAM roles, security groups, NACLs, & encryption mechanisms.
• Provide technical leadership & mentorship to junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative & knowledge-sharing environment.
• Utilize your expertise in internal systems to identify opportunities for process improvement & system optimization that may not be apparent to external candidates.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, & best practices related to cloud networking & internal system management.
• Participate in on-call rotations & provide timely resolution to network-related incidents.

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, focused on AWS cloud networking.
• Proficiency in AWS network solutions design & implementation, encompassing VPC design, peering, & direct connect.
• Solid grasp of networking technologies & protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).
• Experience with internal system management, facilitating process improvements & system enhancements.
• Experience in networking AWS native with VMWARE SDDC
• Experience configuring AWS based Palo Alto firewalls & Panoroma
• Experience with Megaport Cloud Interconnectivity

Preferred Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience specifically in AWS networking, with a proven track record of successful implementations.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices in AWS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead & mentor junior team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills for tackling intricate network issues.
• Effective communication abilities, translating technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with network monitoring & management tools.
• Leadership in implementing network architecture best practices.
• Security standards & operating procedures experience
• Expertise in creating multi-region cloud systems with a solid disaster recovery plan
