Taboola is seeking a dynamic Country Manager for Japan to lead our growth, strengthen our reputation, & build a strong, people-centric culture in the region. This role calls for an experienced sales leader with a deep understanding of the Japanese ad-tech landscape, capable of designing & executing bold strategies while fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
Taboola Japan has experienced rapid growth on both the advertiser & publisher sides, working with many of Japans top agencies, advertisers, publishers, data partners, DSPs, & other key local players.
The Country Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding Taboolas business & operations in Japan by creating impactful sales strategies, defining a clear road map, building meaningful partnerships, & driving revenue growth. We are looking for a leader who can execute quickly, operate independently, & isnt afraid to get their hands dirty while fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
The Country Manager of Taboola Japan must possess a strong drive to consistently achieve double-digit annual growth, demonstrating unwavering focus on scaling the business & delivering exceptional results year after year.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Japan Market Expertise: Proven track record in the Japanese ad-tech industry with 5+ years of experience & exceptional knowledge of the local advertiser, publisher, & revenue ecosystem.
- Sales & Leadership Experience: 10+ years in key sales positions, including managing large teams or organizations of 30+ people, with strong leadership skills & deep familiarity with the business environment in Japan.
- Strategic Visionary: Ability to design a comprehensive & sustainable business model tailored to Japans unique growth opportunities.
- Client-Focused Relationship Builder: Skilled in developing long-lasting relationships with top advertisers, publishers, & agencies, leveraging deep local market understanding.
- Operational Leader: Experience as a Representative Director (or equivalent senior position) overseeing operations, including sales strategies, trade shows, & quality initiatives.
- Technologically Savvy: Expertise in digital advertising, video, & ad-tech systems, with the ability to explain product benefits within this context.
- Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity toward cultural differences & fluency in both Japanese & English.
- Hands-On Approach: A proactive & results-oriented attitude, with the ability to take ownership, drive initiatives to completion, & adapt quickly to challenges. Demonstrates a willingness to be deeply involved in operational & strategic tasks to achieve business objectives.
- Growth-Oriented Mindset: Strong drive to achieve double-digit year-over-year business growth, with a focus on scaling the organization & driving results rather than solely managing an established team.

- Build relationships with key local partners, including advertisers, publishers, & agencies.
- Provide insights to the product team to shape product development based on client needs.
