Overview

The Associate Corporate Development Analyst role will provide support & be a vital resource for our Corporate Development & Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated & quantitatively strong individual to gain hands-on strategic finance experience. The analyst will receive accounting & finance training & will be provided the opportunity to support the end-to-end deal (M&A) lifecycle: strategy formulation, financial valuation, deal structuring, negotiations, due diligence, & post-merger integration. The role will also provide the opportunity to explore, structure, & execute technology partnerships, while working alongside seasoned professionals in the field.

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as strategic initiatives for both the Corporate Development & Finance organizations. Were looking for someone who can perform both quantitative & qualitative analysis & help identify, quantify, & develop plans for capturing value in both deal & operational contexts. In short, youre great at thinking, great at explaining, & great at doing!

Role Logistics

You will report directly to the VP of Corporate Development, a member of Acquias Executive Leadership Team (ELT), with a dotted line to the Director of FP&A.  The Analyst will get exposure to other members of Acquias ELT, including the CEO, CFO, Business Unit GMs, & CTO/CSO. This role is based on Acquias Boston Headquarters, with the expectation to work from the office Monday through Thursday, for the first year of employment. We believe a candidate in this role will  benefit the most from in-person coaching, development, & oversight.

What youll be responsible for:  

  • Support the monthly, quarterly, & annual financial planning, budgeting, & forecasting processes
  • Conducting market research & analysis to identify potential acquisition targets & strategic partners in various industries & regions
  • Assisting in the due diligence process, including financial analysis, market analysis, & competitive analysis
  • Supporting the negotiation & execution of M&A deals, joint ventures, & other strategic partnerships
  • Developing & maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including target companies, investors, & industry experts
  • Supporting the development & implementation of the company's business development strategy, including channel partnerships, technology partnerships, & strategic alliances
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, sales, marketing, & legal, to drive successful outcomes for the company

What youll need to be successful:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Interest & background in business & technology
  • Work well as part of a team; however, has the ability to work independently & manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • A willingness to learn & be coached
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment 
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint
