Role Description

Dropbox is seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to join the foundations of our Infrastructure team. This person will be responsible for sourcing the network connectivity services needed to deliver the cloud infrastructure that will enable Dropbox to scale beyond our current 1 billion files/day stored by 700M+ users. This role will work with global network carriers to ensure that Dropbox has the network capacity it needs.  

Responsibilities

• Develop & execute a robust global telecom/network carrier services category strategy based on Dropboxs infrastructure needs
• Own & lead commercial & contractual negotiations with suppliers. Drive the development & negotiation of RFI/RFP proposals for new & existing network infrastructure 
• Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline & driving benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budgeting & on-time delivery metrics
• Have region & market expertise to determine specific connectivity routes that meet Dropboxs network requirements & keep abreast of current industry developments & trends 
• Work closely with Network Engineering to identify the best network technology for Dropboxs global network infrastructure. Lead project initiatives for Dropboxs global cloud infrastructure network services including metro, long haul, & network colocation
• Develop new supplier engagements & partnerships to enable new network transport/transit/peering/colocation deployments & cost savings opportunities 
• Lead Supplier Business Reviews to drive supplier performance & executive alignments. Build long term strategic relationships with key suppliers & industry experts
• Drive alignment with key internal stakeholders including engineering, operations, finance and legal

Requirements

• BA/BS in supply chain, procurement, networking or equivalent with at least 5 years of sourcing experience
• 5+ years of experience in networking technologies
• 5+ years of experience in strategic negotiations obtaining services from network technology providers
• Extensive experience with contract development & supplier management
• Good understanding of domestic & global carrier networks
• Experience interfacing with suppliers & driving results with supply base  
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal are required

Preferred Qualifications

• Supply Chain, Telecommunications or MBA degree 
• 7+ years of sourcing and/or supply chain experience 
• Experience in network/telecom field working at cloud service provider  
• Experience working & partnering with suppliers at a global scale

Compensation

Canada Pay Range
