The Role

You will be part of a regional sales team & the overall face of Newsela out in the market. As a Growth Sales Rep, you will be responsible for building & strengthening relationships with key decision makers at the school district level across our existing Customer Base. You will implement a strategy aimed at growing our customer revenue base by identifying upsell & expansion opportunities to bring engaging reading content to schools district-wide. In your day to day, you will do everything from pipeline management & forecasting, to designing strategic account plans & managing sales through the entire lifecycle. You will also become well-versed in your territorys funding, state initiatives, demographics, & K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy. This is a remote role; youll work from your home office & travel about up to 20% of the time in the Tristate area.

Why Well Love You

You are a proven Sales Rep or Strategic Account Manager with 3+ years hitting or exceeding your quota of selling SaaS products (preferably edtech) or digital education solutions in the field. You have demonstrated expertise in seamlessly navigating multiple stakeholders (district & school superintendents, instructional & curriculum directors, & administrators) to engineer the right solution for each customer. You take a consultative approach to sales, & have proven experience building a book of business largely from organic growth. You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment & can drive sales quickly to a close within the education system. You might also have been a teacher at one point, or have a good grasp of pedagogy & can truly help connect the challenges in the classroom to the solutions Newsela is building.
