The Role
BuzzFeed is looking for a full-time, project-based Video Editor I to join our Post Production team in LA & NY. The candidate needs to be able to commute to our LA or NY office space 3-4 days a week, depending on the project type. The ideal candidate will partner Creative Producers for editing various BuzzFeed assets & ensuring the BuzzFeed voice is upheld & projects are up to standard. The ability to work & communicate effectively in a remote environment is a must on days not in the office.

You Will
- Partner with Creative Producers to edit a variety of BuzzFeed video content in Adobe Premiere
- Provide start-to-end editing across multiple videos & formats both unscripted & scripted
- Quickly assemble rough cuts & implement notes from creatives or clients
- Experiment with different versions of an edit, exploring multiple directions if needed
- Remain organized & adhere to internal SOPs for project naming conventions
- Follow BuzzFeeds Post Production best practices for optimal project delivery
- QC & maintain high-quality standards for any cuts shared out
- Collaborate with the Post-Production team to flag & communicate any watchouts with the shoot & scope of creative
You Have
- 2+ years editing experience working in a professional environment on digital content
- Advanced knowledge of Mac OS, Google Suite, & Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder & After Effects
- Experience with codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates as they pertain to digital media trends
- Comfortable sharing feedback within a small team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing timelines & deliverables
- Passion & knowledge for editing theory
- Experience with designing & laying in GFX/VFX
- Balance & grade color within Adobe Premiere
- Ability to mix & level audio within Adobe Premiere
- Advanced knowledge of Post-Production & Production processes & equipment
- Knowledgeable of social media & digital video platforms
- Emphasis on organization & attention to detail
- Proactive, positive team player, able to help guide projects from ingest to delivery
- Ability to work from office if required based on project needs (Hollywood, CA / New York, NY)
- Bilingual plus but not required
