Overview

Rithum is looking for a detail-oriented team player to join the Finance Team as a Senior Accountant. This person must be willing to work East Coast business hours (8am 5pm ET). Were looking for someone who is eager to join a fast-growing company & contribute to the continued success of the accounting team. You will build relationships across all departments & levels throughout the organization, ensure accurate & timely reporting & help maintain compliance with the Companys financial policies. Duties will include preparing entries & month-end reconciliations in several key areas, performing analysis on accounts, implementing process changes & improvements, & assisting the team with internal & external requests to management & auditors.  Additionally, this role will split time with the tax function & will be involved with US federal & state income tax compliance & related filings, & various information reporting.  The job also involves ASC 740 income tax accounting and the preparation of the annual income tax provisions.  The responsibilities of the position will also include involvement with sales & use tax, property tax, & international taxes (e.g., VAT, GST).   

Responsibilities

• Preparing journal entries & the month-end reconciliations in several key areas, including: accrued expenses, payroll & payroll-related accounts, prepaids, & fixed assets 
• Ensuring fixed assets are properly recorded & in line with company policy 
• Ongoing administration of our travel & expense platform & corporate purchasing card program 
• Preparing & filing periodic sales & use tax, VAT, & GST returns, including reconciling TB account balances to returns 
• Preparing & filing quarterly & annual US federal & state estimated income tax payments, income & franchise tax extension, & working with our 3rd party service providers to prepare income & franchise tax returns 
• Preparing & filing annual property tax returns
• Assisting with the preparation of the annual ASC 740 income tax provision 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment 
• Understanding of accounting rules & a month-end close process 
• Highly detail-oriented & organized 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & meet deadlines 
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance  
• Preferred prior experience with a software/technology company 
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Concur, & Microsoft Office applications 
• Experience with a public accounting firm  
• Experience with sales & use & property tax 
• Flexibility to assist in all areas of Finance Team 
• CPA or CPA candidate 
• Experience preparing or reviewing US federal & state income tax returns 
• Experience with ASC 740 annual income tax provision
