The role

Reporting to the Benelux CEO, this role will provide support to the entire Benelux business. The work is exciting, impactful & ever-evolving. This is not an average lawyer role! This role provides  the opportunity to be a generalist with a proactive, entrepreneurial & business-focused approach. You will solve complex legal issues facing the business, both locally & internationally, & mitigate legal risk. You will act as a sparring partner for the Benelux Senior Management Team. Its an unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in further developing the Benelux legal department (3 direct reports).

In this role as General Counsel Benelux you are responsible for legal & compliance within HelloFresh Benelux. You are a hands-on lawyer and, together with your team, used to provide your colleagues with legal & strategic advice. To achieve this you have a sound legal background, management experience & you are a team player. .

What youll do

• Be responsible for the delivery of practical, timely & expert legal advice & guidance to the executive management team, heads of department & key internal & external stakeholders with respect to legal, risk & compliance issues related to the development & execution of HelloFreshs business strategy.
• Act as a sparring partner for senior management & proactively give advice & have a strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally
• Manage your team to give proactive legal advice to the broader organization
• Responsible for the contracting life cycle for commercial & general business related contracting 
• Responsible for all litigation & legal conflicts. Close collaboration with the People team on various People & employment law related topics
• Internally represents HelloFresh Benelux in all compliance related matters as the Local Compliance Officer (Global & local Compliance Committees)
• Represent HelloFresh Benelux externally as the Data Privacy Officer (DPO)
• Work closely with the global legal & compliance teams to address risks facing the business
• Engage & oversee work of external legal counsel, where appropriate
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recent legal developments, applicable laws & regulations & train the business accordingly

What youll bring

• You are an experienced (Dutch qualified) lawyer (at least 8 years experience), ideally you have both law firm & in-house experience representing e-commerce & B2C organizations. Employment law interest and/or experience is a pre
• You have experience across various areas of law including but not limited to: general commercial, contracting, data privacy, litigation, employment
