We are seeking a highly experienced & motivated Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Security Products team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, & maintaining robust security products & infrastructure that protect DigitalOcean's platform & our customers' data. What youll do
- Design, develop, & deploy highly scalable & performant full stack applications & services with a security focus.
- Contribute to the architecture & evolution of our security systems, ensuring they meet the demands of a high-throughput, large data environment.
- Develop & maintain robust backend services & APIs, with an emphasis on high-volume eventing systems, primarily using Go, Node.js
- Build responsive & intuitive front-end user interfaces for security products, utilizing frameworks such as EmberJS & ReactJS, along with modern styling & component library systems like Tailwind or ShadCN.
- Implement & utilize GraphQL for efficient data querying & manipulation.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, & operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Work effectively with UX designers, translating Figma prototypes into functional & polished applications.
- Identify & mitigate security vulnerabilities across our infrastructure & applications.
- Mentor junior engineers & interns & contribute to a culture of security awareness & excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest full stack & security trends, technologies, & threats.
What well expect from you
- 5+ years of experience in full stack software engineering, with significant exposure to building products at security companies or within security functions.
- Proven track record of designing & implementing high-throughput, scalable systems with large data requirements.
- Strong proficiency in Go for backend development.
- Strong proficiency in frontend frameworks such as EmberJS & ReactJS, & experience with modern styling & component library systems (e.g., Tailwind, ShadCN).
- Demonstrated experience with GraphQL.
- Experience collaborating with UX designers & implementing designs from Figma prototypes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar) & containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with various security tools & technologies (e.g., SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners).
- Experience with streaming data processing systems (e.g., Kafka, Apache Flink).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, & communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, & rapidly evolving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed systems & microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of cryptography & secure communication protocols.
- Contributions to open-source security projects.

- We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $133,700 - $167,100 based on market data, relevant years of experience, & skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company & individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire & the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
