Our Data team is growing!  We are looking for three student co-ops to join our team & help take our infrastructure, data modelling & automation to the next level!  Our Data Team supports HelloFresh Canada in delivering best-in-class data products to grow our business.  As our co-ops, you will focus on designing scalable & automated data flows using a variety of big data tools & platforms (AWS, Spark, Airflow, Databricks, etc.) & support the development of new data & automation infrastructure.  You will also provide support on driving analyses to inform strategic decision-making for product & customer-facing teams & be a key driver of documentation, training & data adoption efforts throughout the organization.

• Support the Data Engineering team in the maintenance of critical data infrastructure, pipelines & data flow processes, including troubleshooting issues in a timely manner
• Work with the Data Engineering team in designing & executing architectural optimization of data infrastructure, with a focus on performance & scalability
• Collaborate with data scientists, business intelligence analysts, & automation specialists to scope additional requirements for infrastructure improvements & support in implementation planning & execution of these improvements
• Work with the Product Manager, Data to lead the design, build & deployment of solutions, including building data pipelines, maintaining & adopting infrastructure (e.g. databases, tools), & other data solutions into production
• Support the engineering team with the migration & deprecation of legacy local systems/data stacks to better align to a global infrastructure & data strategy
• Support in data quality, data governance & MDM tasks as needed, including the automation of these tasks
• Lead the documentation of critical infrastructure, data systems, data tables, data flows, & other data artifacts for knowledge socialization, including engaging with & training stakeholders when necessary to drive data fluency & adoption
• Define & document team best practices & train/coach stakeholders on leveraging infrastructure in optimal ways
• Contribute to various analytical initiatives as needed, including customer segmentation, customer behaviour, whitespace analysis, cannibalization models, geographic trends, basket/cross-purchase analysis, etc.
• Support the BI/Automation manager with building & publishing Tableau dashboards with relevant business metrics as needed
• Support in the automation of reporting & analytical processes using various data tools (e.g. Python, GSheets, Excel, etc.)
• All other duties, as assigned

Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, STEM discipline, or related field
• Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL, writing queries, & relational databases
• Working knowledge of Python (functional & object-oriented programming), experience with data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.), & understanding of programming for automation are all considered major assets
• Experience using command line tools & version control systems (GitHub), cloud services, & working with APIs considered strong assets, along with experience with infrastructural tooling (e.g., Databricks, Airflow, Snowflake, AWS)
• Tableau (or similar visualization tool) experience is considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated experience or propensity to leading analytical initiatives, working with team members to do so, & effectively communicating results to stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to drive effective documentation with a focus on detail & effective cataloguing
• Eager to learn new things & have the ability to pick up new technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
