David Blei is a professor of statistics & computer science at Columbia University, where he is also a member of the Columbia Data Science Institute. He works in the fields of machine learning & Bayesian statistics.
Jessica Bruder is a journalist who has written about labor & economic justice for publications such as The New York Times, Harper's, & The Nation. She is the author of Burning Book & Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century.
Meehan Crist is writer in residence in biological sciences at Columbia University. Previously, she was editor at large at Nautilus & reviews editor at The Believer. Her writing explores the intersection of science, culture, & politics: from sensory deprivation tanks & the KUBARK manual to cephalopod consciousness & climate change.
