Tour de Finance: VC Funding (Session #3 of 9 part year-long series) The session will dive into the dos and don'ts of securing VC investments. After attending this event you'll know how to value your company, find avenues for funding, what to ask for, and mistakes to avoid. Doors open at 6:00PM for networking, program starts at 6:30PM. Light food and drinks will be served.

Helen represents start-up and growth stage companies on complex transactional matters including early-stage financings (seed, angel and venture capital), bank financing arrangements (secured and unsecured), private securities offerings, employment matters, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. Her clients include technology-based start-ups, restaurants, retail businesses, and traditional advertising, promotion companies and commercial production companies. In her start-up practice Ms. Reeves has advised mobile content providers and developers, companies that manufacture wearables (devices that can be worn), online publishers, software developers and consultants, website developers and operators, and other content providers and ecommerce companies.
Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Ms. Reeves was a corporate associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP, where she handled public and private securities offerings, syndicated lending transactions and private mergers and acquisitions.

Michael Hussey is the founder and CEO of StatSocial, a social analytics and ad targeting company based in New York. Previously, he founded the people search company PeekYou (2006), building it into one of the top-250 sites in the US. Before that, he created RateMyTeachers and RateMyProfessors (2001), which to this day, nearly every college student still uses. A native Mainer, he graduated from the University of Maine in 2000 with a degree in Financial Economics and today lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
