EVENT DETAILS |
Ever wanted to build a video game but don't quite know where to begin? Or maybe you've got experience with building software and you love tinkering and experimenting with new tools? Intermedia artist Kent Sheely will demonstrate some of the games and interactive artworks he's created, and will highlight some of the applications and techniques he's used to make them. He'll also show you why accessible software is crucial for independent developers and for giving a voice to anyone with ideas to share with the world.
Kent's creative work operates at the intersection of art and technology, touching on themes of psychology and politics in video games and digital space. His work manifests as critical game modifications, video, performance, interactive installation, glitch art, and more. Kent's work has been exhibited around the world, and has been written about in publications such as WIRED, Kill Screen, and Kotaku.
