The pitch is a critical element to the success of any startup. It is how you you win the hearts, minds, and souls of investors, team members, customers, and the WORLD! Without the pitch, your startup is nothing.
The only problem is... pitching is hard and a little scary too!
Pitch Karaoke seeks to support anyone interested in startups and entrepreneurship by:
- helping people overcome public speaking fears
- educating the community on the critical elements of a 5-minute pitch presentation
- pushing future entrepreneurs to be comfortable with the concept of failure
- bringing together the NYC startup community in a humorous yet relevant environment
The Format:
15 mystery slide decks will be created to showcase 15 imaginary startups.
On the day of the event, random names will be called from the crowd and will be askedtopitch these startups in front of NYC's welcoming, friendly,and HUMBLEentrepreneur community.
The Caveat?
- You will NOT see the slides in advance of their presentation.
- You will NOT be told the outline of critical presentation elements.
- Presentations are Ignite-style: 5 minutes total
- The startups will be imaginary. They do not exist in real life... yet.
There is no right or wrong way to pitch it. Just be creative as possible!

Sumeet Shah - Senior Associate, Brand Foundry Ventures
Sumeet is responsible for sourcing, executing, and monitoring new opportunities at Brand Foundry Ventures. He has 6 years of experience across the startup and private equity industries, formerly running new business strategies at Gist Digital and handling business development and project work at Gotham Consulting Partners. Sumeet graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Biomechanics.
Galina Ozgur - Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator
Galina is the (self-proclaimed) Queen of Everything at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator. She has managed 7 ERA cohorts of startup companies, organized 7 Launch Events and successfully ran 7 Demo Days. She loves hearing a crisp pitch, no matter how imaginary a startup is.
