Hello, Extreme Programmers!

I'm happy to announce another Meetup in keeping with our emphasis on testing and design. On 2 December Craeg Strong will give us a presentation fresh from October's AgileDC!

Title: BDD/ATDD/TDD for Mission Critical Systems
Description:

Craeg will answer important questions such as: what is BDD/ATDD and how does it differ from other forms of automated testing? How should we structure our tests? Which layer of the architecture should we test? How can I satisfy compliance and oversight groups? How can I build test automation for a legacy system, or for my system that incorporates both new code and legacy services and systems? Why arent traditional Junit/Nunit style automated unit tests up to the job?

With real-world examples and plenty of practical advice and recommendations, Craeg will discuss how BDD/ATDD tools are transforming the way we write automated tests and why you should be using them. Although examples are written using SpecFlow, the Microsoft .NET version of the BDD toolset, they apply equally well to Cucumber and other incarnations of BDD/ATDD. Craeg will discuss who is involved in building the tests, the process by which they are developed, and how they fit into the overall Agile development cycle. Craeg will explain how reporting capabilities can be developed and extended to provide traceability to satisfy even the most demanding oversight groups. Craeg will demonstrate how BDD test suites can be used to provide executable specifications that is the holy grail of agile documentation and which becomes an important organizational asset.

Attended last months TDD, BDD, and all that Jazz talk? this session provides a perfect complement. Missed it? Come see what all the fuss is about!
