<P>The Tech Against Terrorism Project is holding a startup workshop in New York during the week of the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembley (UNGA). The aim of the workshop is to reach out to the tech startup community in New York & discuss responses to the terrorist use of online platforms & services.</P>
<P><SPAN>Tech Against Terrorism is a global campaign designed to help fight the terrorist exploitation of technology, in support of the knowledge-sharing component of the<A HREF="https://techcrunch.com/2017/06/26/facebook-microsoft-youtube-and-twitter-form-global-internet-forum-to-counter-terrorism/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism</A>.Together with leading tech companies, our focus is on building practical tools to help startups develop responses to the exploitation of their services, whilst reinforcing the importance of human rights & protecting fundamental freedoms. To this end, we are engaging with startups around the world to identify their concerns & the best ways in which we might be able to provide assistance. Our partners include major tech companies such as<A HREF="https://www.facebook.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Facebook</A>,<A HREF="https://www.google.co.uk/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Google</A>,<A HREF="https://twitter.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Twitter</A>and<A HREF="https://www.microsoft.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Microsoft</A>, & startups including<A HREF="https://soundcloud.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">SoundCloud</A>,<A HREF="https://transferwise.com/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">TransferWise</A>,<A HREF="https://justpaste.it/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">JustPaste.it</A>and<A HREF="http://www.yellw.co/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Yellow</A>.</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>The New York workshop is designed to educate startups on the nature of the threat & the ways in which their platforms might be susceptible to exploitation, to learn what particular vulnerabilities firms' might have identified, & to ascertain the best means for the Tech Against Terrorism team to provide support.</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>Our aim is to get as many tech startups from New York attending. In particular we're interested in startups that provide<STRONG>social media, communications, data storage, fintech or block chain services</STRONG>- as these are the areas that can provide propaganda & operational applicability for terrorist groups.</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>This event will also afford networking opportunities with representatives of some of Tech Against Terrorism's major industry partners.</SPAN><EM>Tickets for this workshop are free but are subject to availability.
