Giving & Getting Hollywood-Level Feedback

Sponsored by:
Final Draft, The M/E/T and NY Screenwriters Co-Op

Learn how to make your script even better AND have a chance to win one of 5 FREE copies of the new Final Draft 10 software, now available!

Even the most ambitious writers make this mistake: they declare their story ready--when it's not. These writers believe that their third or fourth draft of a story, script, or even novel is ready to shop around to literary agents, producers, studios, or publishers. Just because their closest friends give them a thumbs-up, this doesn't mean that their story is ready for show to the movers & shakers who run Hollywood.

Final Draft, NY Screenwriters Co-op, and The M/E/T have assembled a panel of key decision-makers from both Hollywood and New York City to share behind-the-scenes insight on the story development processincluding drafts and rewrites, writing samples, working with producers & literary representation, and open writing assignments. Get insight from literary agents/managers, production company and studio development executives, working writers, writing contest judges, professional script readers, and more!

Hear from our experts what it takes to give the right feedback at different stages of the process (e.g. initial concept, first draft, later drafts, post-sale rewrites, on-set rewrites, etc.). Story notes (not to be confused with the industry term coverage) are integral; if you don't know how to give industry-caliber story notes, then you probably don't know how to properly receive them, either!

Your process shouldn't stop just because you are tired of edits and rewrites. Learn how to incorporate various story notes and feedback toward the final draft.
