Presentation:
Quality Engineering at Schoology: this is Schoology's story of how we added Automated Testing to the software engineering workflow at Schoology. We have used the lessons from previous industry-related Meetups to inform the construction of our test automation framework. We will discuss the lessons learned in our framework design decisions, the story of educating our core engineers in how to use the test automation system, the integration issues we've encountered so far and next steps.
Speakers:
Jonathan Graf
is the Director of Quality Engineering at Schoology. In his year at Schoology, he has introduced visual automated testing to the engineering teams continuous integration process. Previously, Jonathan was the Tech Lead on HBO GO. On the side, Jonathan enjoys urban planning, learning new spoken languages and acting and singing in his theater group.
Katy Jones
is a Software Engineer at Schoology. As the primary engineer on the automation framework, Katy conducted and led the analysis, construction, training and review. She continues to work towards Schoology's Quality Engineering roadmap by evaluating new and interesting modern automated testing mechanisms. As a test automation evangelist, Katy has become our expert in automation engineering. Katy is an avid theater-goer and traveler. She is currently working on a Masters of Computer Science at Georgia Tech.
