<P>No matter how small your startup is, hackers in 2016 are targeting businesses like yours.These cyber-thieves steal your customer and employee data, your startup's cash and even strike with ransomware to hold your operations hostage. Most crucially, a cyber breach can ruin a startup's reputation and cause the business to fail. Yet in the heady early days of a startup, a founder or CEO may not have given much thought to cybersecurity at all.</P>
<P>This workshop will get you started on creating the cybersecurity strategies you need to protect your organization. Many of the steps you can take are inexpensive, yet these can greatly improve your startup's online defenses and get you prepared to handle any cyber emergency that threatens your business operations. </P>
<P>Mark Schleisner specializes in cybersecurity consulting for startups, nonprofits and other organizations. He has a decade of experience in security-related project management, and has lectured and written extensively to promote security readiness. He was educated in information technology and security at Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical College. When he is not defending the cyber-universe, you can find him cycling for fun on Manhattan's busy streets. </P>
