This class is a 1-night workshop running from 7-9pm.

Whether you need public speaking practice for an upcoming presentation or tech talk, want to improve your skills as a teacher or want to become a more confident public speaker in general - this workshop is for you. Our goal is to help participants become more confident and effective communicators by providing practical exercises, speaking opportunities, instructions, and individual feedback.

To provide a quality speaking time for every participant, this session is limited to 15 people.

How it works:

This session will last for 2 hours. Our topic will be"2017 is here! What does it mean for me?".

Half of the participants will be assigned the role of speakers and deliver a prepared speech, about 4 min long, following the instructions for the session; the other half of the participants will be assigned the role of speech evaluators and deliver an oral evaluation, about 2-3 min long, at the end of the session. Speaking is not the only component of effective communication. Listening is another crucial part of every successful communication, so prepare not only to speak, but also to listen and provide either oral or written feedback depending on your role at every session.

Please pick your preference as either a Speaker or Evaluator when you RSVP. We will take this into account as your preference but we may need to update to have an equal numberof both during the workshop.

Expectations to participants:

1. Teamwork and participation of everybody who has signed up is very important. If you register for a session and can't come, let us know as soon as possible so we can transfer your spot to somebody else.

2. Be respectful and supportive of others in the group. Remember, all of us, including you, will be stepping out of our comfort zone sooner or later - it's the whole point of the workshop. We are here to help one another make this all important step.

Refund Policy:

There are no refunds or make-ups for this course. If you end up being unable to attend any or all of these dates, the entire amount of your tuition will be donated to our scholarship fund to help other women who need financial assistance. Thank you for understanding.
