The web is based on separated concerns: html (semantics), css (presentation), js (behavior) but those separations can get blurry in large applications.

In this talk, JoePorpeglia of Vimeo will present amonolithic component that does all the things, then break it apart & discuss what's happening at each step. How to spot red flags, helpful naming conventions, helpful component patterns (hoc, container components, etc) will all be covered.

Talk 2:"Super Smooth Deployments with React & AWS" with Robert Balicki of Hometeam

We refactored our core app from Java -> Express -> Jade to a purely Java -> React SPA stack. We also built a kick-ass build anddeployprocess. It took us a while to figure out how to tweak the webpack config & to make use of all of the various AWS services (mostly Route53, S3, Cloudfront) to get it all working smoothly, but now that it is, we can claim:

extremely quickdeployments

instant rollbacks

no caching problems

all of the hard parts are done via S3/Cloudfront/Route53

use of S3 without any of the ugly S3 urls

anyone can have their own sandbox
