From Possibility to Practice: Advancing Climate Solutions in a Changing World

Climate Week NYC
As part of Climate Week NYC, UC Berkeley's Master of Climate Solutions will convene a curated group of climate practitioners, alumni, & members of the broader Berkeley community for an invitation-only roundtable lunch.
The gathering will open with remarks from Joel Makower of Trellis, a UC Berkeley alumnus & member of the Master of Climate Solutions Advisory Board. Joel will then join fellow UC Berkeley alumna Eliza Barclay of The New York Times for a candid conversation about what they are seeing from the front lines of climate journalism, business, science, health, & the environment.
Together, Barclay & Makower will explore how the climate story is changing, where meaningful progress is taking hold, where momentum remains constrained, & which developments deserve greater attention.
Their exchange will then open into a facilitated roundtable conversation. Participants will bring their own experiences & perspectives to a shared discussion about what it takes to move climate solutions from possibility to practice within complex & rapidly changing real-world systems.
The program will conclude with reflections from Kat Hunt, drawing on her experience addressing the MCS graduating class & her perspective on the next generation of climate leadership.
Designed as a working conversation rather than a traditional panel, the lunch will create space for candid exchange, practical insight, & meaningful connections among leaders working across sectors & disciplines.
Attendance is limited to 25 guests & is by invitation. Advance registration is required. Additional details will be shared with confirmed participants.
