EVENT DETAILS |
Come watch the 2019 Hk Maker Lab students present the exciting biotechnology they created this summer!
About this Event
For six weeks each summer, high school students from around the city come to Columbia University's Department of Biomedical Engineering to learn the biodesign process & apply it to real-world biomedical problems of their identification. The students then devise solutions to those problems, create testable prototypes, & form business plans related to their innovations. We have an exciting array of designs this summer, ranging from a device that detects oral cancer in its early stages to a system that mimics kangaroo care for neonates. The Presentation Event is the culminating activity of the program - our student teams will give short talks & poster presentations explaining their problems & the devices that they have created to address these real-world needs.
The event will be held in the Northwest Corner Building on Columbia University's Morningside Heights campus, located on the corner of 120th Street & Broadway. The auditorium is located in room 501.
