The design community is bigger than ever. Now what?
Designers have an image problem. Just a few years ago, design was on a roll. Designers were regularly abandoning client and in-house work to co-found startups, and today, design-driven companies are leading the user-centric revolution. But were still far from the utopic vision of a world in which designers, developers, and business strategists have a serious and equal partnership. This has to do with how others perceive the design community.
Now that we head into 2015, it's time for a deep look at where design has been and where it should be headed. To close out the year, Huge Global Creative Director Jon Jackson will deliver the opening remarks to Cameron Koczon State of the Design Union at Huge Brooklyn on December 2nd. How can the design community change its image, merge with its fellow technologists, and have a seat at the table in 2015?
