Once a month, IOTA brings together speakers, builders, & technologists to discuss innovations in cryptocurrency, decentralized systems & distributed ledgers.
This month, we will hear from two entrepreneurs building real-world applications using IOTA's distributed ledger known as "The Tangle." Our event will include two presentations, Q & A, & plenty of time to network with fellow IOTA & cryptocurrency enthusiasts! ***
Speakers
Ben Royce received his B.S. from Yale University & his M.A. from NYU, his thesis on telemedicine. He worked for Credit Suisse & then financial intelligence firm Corporate Insight. He went to AMC Health to work in telemedicine, which led to co-founding Debut mHealth. Debut mHealth aims to reshape medicine in rural areas, with a current focus on Guyana in South America. The constraints & challenges of that project had Ben discover & leverage IOTA to create greater interconnectedness between low powered devices. All in all, Ben hopes to apply the various aspects & tools provided by IOTA to transform modern healthcare.
Alexi Stoinis is focused on understanding & improving communication between medical professions as pharmaceutical care advances. He is a Graduate of Wegmans School of Pharmacy in Rochester, NY, having previously studied at the University at Buffalo. Alexi's interest in IOT began 2 years ago when he worked with a developer on an energy monitoring project for both residential & commercial application. Throughout the course of development his team gained exposure to the potential magnitude IOT might play in the future. With IOT still in its infancy & the expanding role of DLT technology rapidly looking to disrupt every industry - IOTA became the most attractive platform to bring such revolution. Alexi's goal in this space is to foster community effort through education & teamwork. He is currently working on a healthcare startup, Andaman7, that leverages the IOTA Tangle for private health records.
