Peter Eisentraut, Core PostgreSQL Contributor, 2ndQuadrant

A Database Month event

Come & enjoy this fun-filled presentation & learn about PostgreSQL replication solutions that provide asynchronous bi-directional multi-master replication (BDR) through publish/subscribe models, that work exceptionally-well for geographically distributed databases.

Peter will explain BDR functionality, how to use it & how this revolutionary technology can help globally distributed organizations achieve high availability through replication.

Similar to how mobile phone networks put the transmitters in close proximity to the phone-users, BDR can be utilized to deploy a network of databases close to the user. This arrangement is ideal for IoT connectivity & also allows customer data to be stored only within specific regions, enabling individual customers to restrict or control the distribution of their data.

In this session, Peter will also explain row & column filtering, conflict resolution, table synchronization, failover support & Kafka integration.
