PART 1: Driving Affordability in Healthcare with Data & AI
Despite the intense & understandable global focus on addressing the COVID pandemic, affordability of healthcare continues to be one of the biggest challenges in the US healthcare system. Americans spend nearly twice as much for their healthcare compared to citizens of other OECD countries, yet the health outcomes they enjoy are average in a global cohort pool (eg., life expectancy). This is despite Americans access to some of the most advanced healthcare technologies & therapeutics. Much of this stems from the complexity of the US healthcare ecosystem, with private hospitals & providers, payors (insurers), drug companies & government payors & regulators. These constituencies often have competing priorities & dynamics, which are sometimes at odds with enhancing the overall experience & outcomes of patients.
In this session, we will discuss the key drivers behind the escalating cost of care in the US, & measures key healthcare organizations such as payors, providers, drug companies & the government are taking to address this.

Kaushik is an accomplished executive with a demonstrated history of growing successful businesses in the information technology & services industry. Prior to founding Glide Health, Kaushik was a key member of the executive team at Cognizant (NASDAQ:CTSH) for 16 years, starting & leading multiple business units in its market-leading growth to $45B in market cap. He led the largest & most widely-recognized business of Cognizant, Healthcare ($3B in revenue), expanding its footprint into payor BpaaS, Provider RCM & SaaS solutions & advancing the Trizetto product suite, the leading mid & back office payor system in the world.
Larry Bridge - Partner, Bridgehealth Partners
Larry Bridge is a principal at Bridge Health Partners, providing advisory services to private equity companies & other investors in the healthcare market. Larry has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, including leadership of several payer organizations, provider-based plans with integrated physicians, medical centers & hospitals. Larry recently retired from Cognizant where he held the role of SVP of Healthcare Strategy & Corporate Development for its healthcare business. Larry came to Cognizant through the acquisition of TriZetto in 2014, where he spent the previous 15 years of his career.
Patrick Spoletini - VP, IBM Watson Health Consulting
Patrick Spoletini is a Vice President & Senior Partner with IBM Watson Health Consulting. Patrick has over 27 years of healthcare industry (payer & provider) & management consulting experience ranging from strategy, operations, & compliance to digital transformation, change management, & large-scale program management. As the Global Leader of the Payer & Provider consulting practice at IBM Watson Health, Patrick leads the vision, strategy, operation, & execution of Watson Health advisory services to the Payer & Provider industries. Patrick is responsible for scaling the practice internationally with a special focus on North America, Europe & APAC.
