For the third year in a row, The Light House is back with two days filled with inspiring talks, immersive activations, & exciting entertainment. The Light House is a wayfinding point & beacon for those seeking to find new teammates, get the ball rolling on new collaborations, or find new solutions to champion in our collective tech future.

Meet the event producers: The Tech We Want is designed to be a broad platform for those seeking to seed & embed responsible tech values in emerging tech. This event is designed to bring together a coalition of funders, tech leaders & workers - everyone who is building an alternative tech ecosystem built on values of inclusivity, mutualism, sustainability, accountability, & responsible innovation.

Working with our fellow champions Omidyar Network, Siegel Family Endowment, Stanford d.school, & Black Innovation Alliance, The Light House offers a vision of a tech ecosystem that centers people, not technology, as protagonists in shaping our shared technological future.

THE LIGHT HOUSE AT A GLANCE

(tl;dr - Two days of interactive programming & a party.)

March 8, 2025 | 12:00 noon - 7PM

Day 1 of the Light House is programmed, curated & produced in-house by The Tech We Want. Our program is always about putting humans at the center of technology & not the other way round. Similarly, we believe in centering human connection in our events - so expect a good balance of talks, interactive activities, networking & games (and prizes) throughout! Oh, & the Library of the Future is open!

March 9, 2025 | 12:00 noon - 6:30PM

Day 2 of the Light House is sponsored & curated by Omidyar Network. Today's program takes a good look at AI & how it continues to impact people & communities - AND how people are using technology in ways that build shared power, prosperity, & possibility.

The Library of the Future will be closing this evening. Remember to visit us to take a book home with you.

LIGHTS OUT! Closing Party on March 9, 2025

Join us for an electrifying night of fun at The Belmont! We're gathered in person to catch a vibe - let's get to know each other on another level, beyond the networking & hardworking conference-going versions of ourselves. Reconnect with #TeamHuman allies you've made throughout both days & get to know each other beyond the work.

We dim the lights as we turn up the energy on the dance floor. Our DJ will be spinning the latest hits while you mingle with fellow tech enthusiasts. This is your chance to let go of what you've been holding down & enjoy yourself in good company.

Get ready to dance the night away or take center stage with karaoke at the bar!

The Company We Keep:
We are striving for a better future, & that future is here in the company of those working towards it. So, why not celebrate the connections you've been making throughout the past two days of THE LIGHT HOUSE! It's not always easy being on #TeamHuman & we are here to celebrate our wins with those who value pro-social technology, responsible innovation & collective intelligence, but who also prioritize having fun!

What to wear?

Show us your #TeamHuman spirit & come dressed as your own biggest fan! This is a space where you can express yourself in a festive & celebratory way. We encourage you to wear your most fun & vibrant clothes, something that you feel comfortable hitting the dancefloor in or taking a memorable glamor shot in our super special chrome photo booth. Who knows, there might even be a prize for best-dressed!

What's happening in our space:

DJ HELIOS: Will be spinning Throwbacks, Hip-hop, Funk, & R&B Dance Party Vibes

Karaoke: Sing your favorite tunes & let loose

Book Give away: Take your favourite Library of the Future books home with you! Over the past two days at THE LIGHT HOUSE, our library has stocked books that inspire & fuel our movement. At the start of our closing party we will be giving away books from our collection to celebrate distributing that knowledge into the community that we've created in Austin.

Lounging Space: Share a beverage & connect with new & old friends

Photo Ops: Enjoy our free Chromed out photobooth or take some pictures at the Tech We Want portrait station.
