Digital security researcher Geminii Matt, will be teaching PGP encryption and how to protect your data. Matt is a security trainer, researcher, consultant, developer, hacker and vegan. He has worked for the NYTimes, CNN, Time inc, Interactive One and has a strong record of supporting activists around the world.
Voices co-founder John Bogil will be speaking on the current state of privacy rights in NYC and how the average person can influence policy making. Voices is a civic tech project that is partnering with advocacy groups in NYC to make them more influential in the policy process. John formerly worked for a lobby firm that represented tech companies on Capitol Hill and has also worked with community organizers and activists.
The Electronic Frontier Alliance is the EFF's grassroots network of activists fighting for civil liberties and digital rights across the globe.
