The US is the "Auto Nation" thanks to 100 years of marketing, lobbying, & inexpensive gasoline. Now, we need to transition all of our cars to EVs as quickly as possible, or perhaps better yet, not own cars ourselves & use bicycles, shared cars & mass transportation.
Also, don't forget that our meetups are announced first in our monthly newsletter (http://bit.ly/clMonthlyNewsletter) before they're announced here along with funding opportunities, partner events, & video from our past talk.

Our SpeakersSam Arons, Director of Sustainability, Lyft (http://bit.ly/samArons)Sam joined Lyft in 2018 as the Director of Sustainability, where he oversees Lyfts sustainability & climate impact efforts. In April 2018 Lyft announced that all rides are carbon-neutral going forward, & in September 2018 doubled down by making Lyft fully carbon-neutral & covering 100% of electricity consumption with renewable energy.
Prior to Lyft, Sam spent 10 years at Google as Senior Lead for Energy & Infrastructure, where he co-led Google's achievement of 100% renewable energy in 2017, making Google the largest non-utility purchaser of renewable energy on the planet with over 3 GW of wind & solar energy under contract.
Before Google, Sam earned a BA in Physics from Williams College & an MS in Energy & Resources from UC Berkeley, where his research focused on wind energy & plug-in vehicles, respectively.
