EVENT DETAILS
Universities have long fostered the development of innovative ideas & over the last decade & have increasingly played a key role in incubating new startups. On most campuses, there is no shortage of entrepreneurial activity such as educating students on starting new business ventures, providing seed funding, & showcasing their startups through pitch competitions. Oftentimes, universities specifically create one or multiple entrepreneurship centers & hire teams to lead these efforts.

With all the changes in the higher education landscape, there are rich opportunities to promote the teaching of entrepreneurship & to examine the specific role that university based innovation ecosystems play in partnering with industry & government in order to advance entrepreneurship education. Universities today serve as a launch pad not just for new ventures, but also for preparing students with an entrepreneurial mindset to take on any career or challenge. Partnerships across academia, industry & government sectors enhance multidisciplinary entrepreneurial development.

This event facilitates conversation with key stakeholders from universities, government institutions, & industry to shed light on opportunities & best-practices for cultivating public-private partnerships for the advancement of entrepreneurship & innovation. Leaders from each sector will discuss how they have led changes in the post-pandemic world & implemented successful strategies in creating transatlantic cooperation in this field. Participants will share tangible insights from research studies & applications within their organizations.

How do we foster public-private partnerships for the advancement of modern entrepreneurialism?
What are the proven practices & metrics for success in cultivating entrepreneurial activity within university innovation ecosystems through public-private partnerships? What are the barriers to success?
What specific support & opportunities do transatlantic university & industry partnerships offer for young entrepreneurs?
What is the future university-government-industry role in supporting entrepreneurial mindset development in all students?
Can entrepreneurial innovation (research, transfer, more?) drive internationalization & vice versa; is it assumed that internationalization can also drive entrepreneurial innovation?
The event is organized by the German Center for Research & Innovation (DWIH) San Francisco, The University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) North America, Lehigh University & Lehigh@NasdaqCenter.
