Ivan Pereira is a NYC journalist who joined amNewYork in the spring of 2012 as a staff reporter covering politics & general assignment stories. His articles for amNewYork are also published in the paper's parent news organization, Newsday, in its NYC section. Some of the topics he covered include: the Mayor Bloomberg's plan to ban on large sodas, the 2012 presidential election, Hurricane Sandy, the development of the West Side, the 2013 mayoral election, the launch of Citi Bike service, the student loan debt crisis & Eric Garner police brutality case.
