EVENT DETAILS
Networking Day at the AWS Loft is an opportunity to learn about AWS network services directly from our experts. These services provide easy, scalable, reliable, & cost-effective ways to provide network connectivity within & into the AWS cloud.

You will learn how to get started with AWS network services & the best practices in your AWS environment. We will explain the fundamentals & take a technical deep dive into the Amazon VPC, AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Direct Connect, AWS Client VPN, AWS Site-to-Site VPN, Amazon VPC sharing, Amazon VPC traffic mirroring. We will review connectivity options within & into your AWS environment, advanced network architectures, & visibility into the traffic traversing your Amazon VPCs. We will close the day with a Q&A session to answer the remaining questions you have about your AWS network.

Who should attend

Developers, network engineers, architects, & system administrators who are eager to learn how networking works on AWS & the best practices for AWS network services.

This event is best for attendees with fundamental knowledge of networking & some experience with AWS services.

Session levels range from 200-300. More information on AWS session levels here.

This event is free to attendees.

Fundamentals of AWS Networking & New Features

Amazon VPC is one of the foundational building blocks that is often used when deploying your applications on AWS. This session will describe how the Amazon VPC works, including any recent updates that could change how you architect your Amazon VPC. This session is intended for anyone wanting to learn about Amazon VPC, yet we will dive at times into more advanced level topics such as connectivity, visibility, & network security on AWS.

10:45AM-12:15PM

Ask The Expert / GameDay

During this "Ask The Expert" style session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about anything & everything related to AWS Networking. The presenters will also be whiteboarding any questions needing visual explanation. OR A game day where the room is divided into groups & compete using networking technologies in the AWS Game Day format.

Advanced AWS Network Architecture Examples & Services Deep Dive

Amazon offers a wide range of inter-connectivity services for your services to communicate privately inside the AWS environment. Some of these services include AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) & AWS Private Link (PL). The Amazon VPC can also be shared amoungst multiple accounts using the Shared VPC (SVPC) model. This session is intended for anyone wanting to learn more about the available inter-connectivity options on AWS, how to architect for a multi-account inter-connectivity model, how a Shared VPC can be used, Global Accelerator & Network Manager.

Services Covered: AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Private Link, AWS Resource Access Manager, & Amazon VPC Sharing, AWS Global Accelerator & AWS Network Manager

Connectivity to AWS & Hybrid AWS Network Architectures

Amazon offers multiple options to achieve your connectivity requirements to access your resources in AWS. Whether you are connecting your corporate office or on-premises data center into AWS for hybrid connectivity, or your personal device for end-user connectivity, AWS has many options for you to pick & choose. This session is intended for anyone wanting to get an overview of the AWS connectivity options available to you & learn about the best practices for architecting your connectivity to AWS.

Services Covered: AWS Direct Connect, AWS Managed VPN, AWS Client VPN, & AWS Transit Gateway

Network Lens on Amazon EKS

Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) is a fully managed Kubernetes service used by many customers to run their most sensitive & mission critical applications because of its security, reliability, & scalability. In this session we will focus on how EKS networking works in Amazon VPC, how to expose your Kubernetes application using Amazon Elastic Load Balancers & look at options for more efficient utilization of IP addresses.
