In today's software development world, there are several Machine Learning (ML) tools that empower developers to craft private chatbots that cater to various needs. These chatbots harness the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) trained on confidential document sets on your local machine or enterprise data repositories.

But most of these systems are Python-based. Most of us are operating within the Java ecosystem, especially within large organizations that prioritize Java for robust & reliable production deployments. We'll focus on Java-centric tools to construct tuned assistant systems.

The focus will be on my adventure to find out more about LLMs, prompting, RAG techniques, & vector databases. I'll relay all the cool stuff that I learned!

* Patterns & Machine Learning
* Prompts & Completions
* Prompt Structure
* Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Architecture
* Embedding Vectors, Similarity, & Vector Stores
* Crafting a Private Chatbot Architecture
* Demos
* Responsible AI & Ethics

--> We are ordering pizza, so if you have to cancel or are attending remotely, please unregister using the Eventbrite app or website. The NYJavaSIG would like to minimize food waste as much as we can.

Frank Greco is a long-time denizen of the local tech scene, known as a senior consultant & enterprise architect who focuses on cool stuff like AI / Machine Learning, Cloud, & Mobile/Edge computing. Frank is a long-time educator, a prolific writer, a developer community builder, a mentor, a big proponent of DEI, & an expert on tech partnerships & innovations, especially in financial systems & enterprise computing.

Frank is also the co-author of JSR #318, a Java-centric API for visual recognition & machine learning. You'll often find him sharing his insights at top tech conferences worldwide - QCon, Devnexus, Devoxx, IDEA Conf, Technology Transfer, you name it.

On top of all that, Frank's a recognized Java Champion & the founder/Chairman of NYJavaSIG, the world's first & North America's largest Java User Group. Frank authored & performed Java Jam with the band The Yield which was the first song about Java (the programming language), at The Bitter End way back in 1996.
