Join the Women's Environmental Network (WEN) of the Bay Area for an afternoon of creativity, collaboration, & impact! Our April 2025 Ideathon invites you to tackle a pressing challenge:
Prompt: How can companies & policymakers accelerate the inclusion of women & underrepresented groups in the green economy? Propose a product, app, or initiative that enhances access to green jobs, upskilling programs, or funding for diverse entrepreneurs in sustainability.
The Challenge
Propose a product, app, or initiative that enhances access to green jobs, upskilling programs, or funding for diverse entrepreneurs in sustainability. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, an industry professional, or simply curious about driving change, this event is your chance to brainstorm, network, & bring fresh ideas to life.
Event Details
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025, 2PM-5PM
Location: In-person, San Francisco (Venue TBC)
Registration Fee: $20
Itinerary
2:00 - 2:30 PM | Check-in, refreshments, getting into groups, networking
2:30 - 2:45 PM | Introduction & judging criteria overview
2:45 - 3:45 PM | Brainstorming & final presentation development
3:45PM - 4:30 PM | Pitch presentations
4:30PM - 5:00PM | Judging & Winners Announced!
Team Format & Deliverables
Participate individually or in teams of up to three people
Final deliverable: 5-10 slides (PowerPoint or Google Slides)
Pitches will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, impact, inclusivity, scalability, & presentation quality
Prizes

Judging Criteria
Your idea will be assessed on the following principles:
Innovation: Is the idea unique & forward-thinking? Does it introduce a novel approach or significantly improve existing solutions?
Feasibility & Timeline: Can this idea be realistically implemented within a reasonable timeframe? Are the proposed steps clear & actionable?
Impact & Inclusivity: Does the idea effectively support women & underrepresented groups in the green economy? Is there a clear benefit to the target audience?
Adherence to Prompt: Does the solution directly address the challenge of increasing diversity in green jobs, upskilling, or funding opportunities?
Scalability: Can this idea be expanded to a broader market or different regions? Is there potential for long-term growth?
Presentation Quality: Is the pitch well-structured, compelling, & clearly communicated? Does the team effectively convey their solution?
