Originally from Mexico & based in New York City, Andre Perez-Duarte is a partner & creator at iNK Stories, a studio at the intersection of storytelling & film, games, XR. Most recently, iNK Stories received the AIS Lumiere Award & the Storyscapes Jury Award from Tribeca Film Festival 18 for HERO; a location based multi-sensory VR experience that challenges the perception on migration & world's refugees. At the same time, iNK stories has accoladed several awards for the Interactive VR Series; Fire Escape, which is a neo-Hitchcock thriller revolving around the lives of eight New Yorkers & a murder, in gentrified downtown Brooklyn. Andres was a finalist of the first AT&T Untold Stories Initiative in partnership with Tribeca Film Festival, which led to a major Studio optioning his feature film script to be turned into an episodic series. Andres is active in the LGBTQ film community & often speaks on the new frontier of narrative experiences & technology.
Sam Butin is a partner/creator at iNK Stories - a New York City studio that embraces innovation within storytelling. His past work includes the highly acclaimed 1979 Revolution: Black Friday (BAFTA nominee, Facebook's Game of the Year, Sundance, Indiecade), Hero (Winner of Lumiere Award '19, Sundance '18, Winner of Tribeca Film Festival Storyscapes Award '18), & Fire Escape: An Interactive VR Series (Tribeca '18, NYFF, Indiecade, NYC Game Critics Finalist). He contributes to the landscape of technology, story & social impact--with workshops/engagements at institutions including Columbia University, NYU, MIT, & Scholastic.
The DUMBO Improvement District is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing & promoting DUMBO, Brooklyn. The Improvement District showcases DUMBO as a world-class destination, advocating on behalf of DUMBO's businesses, property owners & residents. The organization provides supplemental sanitation services, marketing, economic development, neighborhood programming & long-term planning.
