The AI Futures Hackathon, organized by the Laney College AI Department in collaboration with Mission College & the Bay Area AI Center of Excellence (BAAICOE), is a dynamic event designed to cultivate emerging AI talent & drive innovation in our community. The AI Futures Hackathon will be held in-person at Laney College on June 7th & 8th.
Saturday June 7th: 9AM - 5PM
Sunday June 8th: 10AM - 5PM
We encourage students to form teams & start working on their projects before the project submission deadline on June 1st, 2025! To be eligible for prizes,

| Autonomous Systems | Education
Participants will collaborate in teams to develop solutions within the following challenge areas:
Empowering Local & Community Business Solutions: AI solutions to support local businesses
Healthcare Application: AI innovations to improve patient care & diagnostics
Autonomous Systems: Next-gen AI for automation, robotics & transportation
Transforming Education: AI-driven tools for personalized learning & accessibility
The primary goals of the AI Futures Hackathon are to:
Innovation for Impact: Develop AI solutions that solve real-world community challenges.
Learn & Grow: Gain hands-on experience, mentorship, & industry connections.
Build a Community: Connect with students, professionals, & AI enthusiasts.

Prizes Compete for a total prize pool of $10,000, including:
1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $3,000
3rd Place: $1,000
4th Place: $500

Instructions to Register for the AI Futures Hackathon
Step 1: Build Your Team
Step 2: Fill Out the Registration Form
Provide the following details:
Team Name (Choose a unique name for your team)
List of Team Members (2-4 participants per team)
Email Contact (for updates & important event details)
We encourage students to form teams & start working on their projects before the project submission deadline on June 1st, 2025! To be eligible for prizes, all team members must attend the in-person Hackathon on June 7-8, 2025.
Step 3: Confirmation & Updates
After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email with event details.
Join our Slack (link will be provided via email) for updates, mentorship, & networking opportunities.
Step 4: Submit your project for review
Submit your project by 11:59 PM on June 1, 2025. Your team will receive a unique GitHub link via email for submission.
Originality: Submissions must be new projects-previously developed projects are not allowed. Please check the link below for project selections & submission rules.

Step 5: Attend & Compete!
Mandatory Attendance: All team members must attend the full 2-day, in-person Hackathon (June 7-8, 2025) to be eligible for prizes.
Saturday, June 7, at 9:00 AM for check-in. Hackathon kickoff & guidelines will be shared at 9:30 AM.
Sunday, June 8, at 10:00 AM for check-in. Hackathon kickoff & guidelines will be shared at 10:30 AM.
Submit your hack by 11:59 AM on June 8th. Project Image & Code: Submit an image of your project along with a GitHub repository link for any code.*A Github link will be provided on June 8th for the final hack submissions.
