About this event
Join us for an evening of business mentorship hosted by the Department of Small Business Services (SBS), Owning It, & Lower Manhattan Headquarters (LMHQ)! You will receive direct access to successful founders & entrepreneurs who will mentor you on topics such as:

-Emelyn Stuart, Owner, Stuart Cinema & Cafe will advise on building a brand

-Brianna Carney, Co-founder, CrewBloom will advise on growing your customer base

-Ayme Sinclair, CEO & Founder, Sinclair Social (Sinclair Prints & Poseys Inc)will advise on social strategy

-Ariane Hunter, Founder, Project She Went for Her Dreams will advise on building a network

-Geri Stengel, Founder & President, Ventureneer will advise on funding

At this event, you will connect with each of the five (5) mentors & complete five mini-mentor sessions in small groups. Attendees should come to the event prepared to ask mentors specific questions about how these successful business owners in NYC can help launch or grow their businesses!

Tickets are limited & available on a first come, first serve basis, & entry will be given to those who show up first until we reach capacity.

The NYC Department of Small Business Serviceshelps unlock economic potential & create economic security for all New Yorkers by connecting New Yorkers to good jobs, creating stronger businesses, & building thriving neighborhoods across the five boroughs. Small Business Mentors NYC is a mentorship program for existing storefront business owners seeking to recover & grow their businesses. BE NYC Mentors is New York City's inaugural mentorship program for Black entrepreneurs seeking to start a business & aims to increase the number of new Black-owned businesses in high-growth industries.

Women Entrepreneurs NYC (WE NYC) is an initiative of the NYC Department of Small Business Services that is dedicated to helping women start & grow their businesses.

Owning It is a program of The Gotham Film & Media Institute (formerly IFP), is dedicated to supporting, connecting, & empowering women & non-binary creators & entrepreneurs who break down boundaries in the media & entertainment industry.

The program consists of monthly fireside chats, an annual summit, a mentorship initiative with WE NYC, workshops & more. Past guests include Riva Marker (Nine Stories Productions) Lydia Dean Pilcher (Cutie & the Boxer), Veena Sud (The Stranger), & Gayle Jennings-O'Byrne (WOC Star Fund).

Owning it provides an inclusive environment that expands & expresses a liberated movement for women & non-binary individuals as well as those that are our champions, advocates & allies.

LMHQ is a community hub & professional resource based in Lower Manhattan. LMHQ dedicates itself to providing members, creators, innovators, educators, & entrepreneurs, with the resources & tools they need to collaborate, learn, connect, & get things done.
