The Silicon Valley Engineering Council (SVEC) proudly presents the 2019 Silicon Valley Engineers Week Banquet on Saturday February 23, 2019. The SVEC honors outstanding individuals for their contributions by welcoming them into its Hall of Fame. The banquet will also feature a distinguished keynote speaker & award several scholarships for academic excellence. The Hall of Fame ceremony recognizes local engineers for their outstanding professional achievements, both in engineering & technology-- & for significant contributions to the community. Tickets are $95 through 2/11 & $120 thereafter.Full tables accommodate 10 diners.

Jeni graduated summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering & a minor in Artificial Intelligence. She represents Intel on the board of directors of the Telecommunications Industry Association. A strong advocate for causes in education & women in technology, Jeni serves in leadership roles for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, Experience Matters, Arizona Academic Decathlon Association, National Charity League, & other diversity & inclusion initiatives & Arizona community organizations.

Tsu-Jae King LiuDean of EngineeringUniversity of California, Berkeley
Tsu-Jae King Liu was born in Ithaca, NY & raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her B.S., M.S. & Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. From 1992 to 1996 she worked at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center as a Member of Research Staff. In August 1996 she joined the faculty of the University of California at Berkeley, where she presently is the Dean & Roy W. Carlson Professor of Engineering. She is best known for the development of polycrystalline silicon-germanium thin film technology for applications in integrated circuits & microsystems, & for co-developing the three-dimensional FinFET transistor design that is used in all leading-edge microprocessor chips today. Her awards include the DARPA Significant Technical Achievement Award (2000) for development of the FinFET, the IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award (2010) for contributions to nanoscale MOS transistors, memory devices, & MEMs devices, the Semiconductor Industry Association Outstanding Researcher Award (2014), & the Semiconductor Research Corporation Aristotle Award (2016). She has authored or co-authored over 500 publications & holds over 90 patents. Liu is a Fellow of the IEEE, an elected member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, & a Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Intel Corporation.Mark A. PasqualeVice President & General Manager, Special ProgramsLockheed Martin SpaceMark A. Pasquale is the Vice President & General Manager for Lockheed Martin Space Special Programs, where he leads execution & new capture pursuits for the division's largest business. He manages a broad portfolio responsible for Profit & Loss of multiple large complex development programs, operations & maintenancecontracts & a variety of research & development pursuits. His portfolio is focused on delivering high-performance systems & innovative concepts for critical national security space applications. He isresponsible for advocacy within the legislative & executive branches for programs of record, policies related to the content of the business & the future direction of follow on architectures. Previously, Mark served as vice president Engineering & Technology at Lockheed Martin Space. Responsible for 10,000 engineers, accountable for hardware & software engineering & technology strategy spanning numerous products, from mission systems, sensor systems & missile defense to human spaceflight & deep-space missions. Previously, he served as the vice president, Supply Chain Management, responsible for $5 billion worth of Subcontracts. Prior, Mark was deputy to theMilitary Space Vice President & general manager. Responsible for national security space programsincluding GPS, early warning missile detection, military communications missions & the Mobile User Objective System. Mark earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University in 1984. He serves on the San Jose State Engineering Department Industry Advisory Board. He is a recipient of the prestigious Lockheed Martin NOVA awardand the San Jose State University Department of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award.
