EVENT DETAILS
TheEnvironmental Sciences & Humanities Research Cluster at the Center for Science & Society invites you to "Food, Farming, & Sustainability." With approximately 815 million people around the world currently undernourished & the global population expected to grow by 2 billion by 2050, two of the most pressing issues that humanity will face over the next 30 years is 1) the trend towards global hunger & 2) our ability to create innovative & equitable solutions to feeding the global population. Given that these issues are multidimensional & therefore cannot be solved through the lens of any one discipline, we will convene an interdisciplinary conference that will look at the cultural, economic, & environmental aspects of sustainability in our food system.
This one-day conference will entail a mix of panel discussions & individual presentations from the morning to early afternoon that will be open to the public, followed by a closed-door working group meeting for speakers. Advance registration for speaker sessions & panels required. Please click on the "Register" button above.
For a list of confirmed speakers & additional information, please visit theCenter for Science & Society website.
