You might have heard about GraphQL & its tremendous rise in popularity. If youve worked with APIs before & have a basic understanding of how the web works - this meetup is for you!
In this class, well introduce what GraphQL is & how it differs from REST. Well talk about queries, mutations & subscriptions & walk through how to set up a GraphQL server & how to make HTTP requests to a GraphQL endpoint. Well discuss what the GraphQL ecosystem looks like & talk about modern client-side libraries like Relay & Apollo Client.

Youve made API requests before using JavaScript & have a basic understanding of how the web works.

To make signing in at the door easier - please sign up via Eventbrite to let us know you're coming.
Doors open @ 6pm. Lecture will start around 6:30pm. Come early, get signed in, grab a good seat & shmooze for a bit.
Bring your laptop! The workshop will be a combination of lecturing & programming.
