EVENT DETAILS |
Activists today are using poetry, arts, music, writing, protest, & more to raise & address issues from immigration reform, Black women's & girls' lives, stop-and-frisk policing, domestic & gender-based violence. But ever wondered what inspired them? How did they get started? How do they sustain their commitment to doing the challenging work of advancing social justice & influencing public policy.
Join us for Winning Women: Leaders of Tomorrow featuring a presentation by 20 year old, immigrant rights activist, Sara Mora, followed by a panel discussion & Q&A session with women who have a deep experience as activists on Wednesday, August 22 2018.
Winning Women, created by Cynthia Hellen, is a monthly event series empowering women to effect change in society at all levels: as an individual, community member, professional, student & entrepreneur. At Winning Women, women share their lessons learned to an audience that ranges from 20-60s year old female & males who are eager to learn how to become better leaders, start a business, or juggle their passion project & day job.
