The SFCW Flagship Energy Summit, presented by PG&E, returns in 2026 to convene the leaders building the next generation of energy infrastructure.
This summit brings together utilities, policymakers, investors, & technology leaders to explore the biggest challenges facing the energy system today, from rising electricity demand & grid modernization to resilience & electrification. Programming will be followed by networking with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, & excellent conversation.
SFCW Energy Summit Programming
11:30a - 6:30pm: Energy Technology Showcase Explore cutting-edge energy technologies from leading companies including PG&E, GridIQ, SkopeOne, Itron, SPAN, & more.
12pm - Panel: Rethinking Energy Decisions in a Data-Rich World As new measurement technologies deliver increasingly precise, real-time insights, data is becoming a key driver of how energy assets are evaluated, financed, & operated. This panel will explore how emerging data signals, from emissions to operational performance, are reshaping decision-making across the energy ecosystem. The conversation will examine how these insights are informing investment, procurement, & infrastructure development, & how the industry is moving from measurement to action.
1:10pm - Panel: Home Electrification & Affordability
As California rapidly electrifies homes & transportation, a critical question is emerging: how do we power everything without overwhelming the grid or driving up costs for customers? This panel will explore how technologies such as grid-aware devices, advanced meters, & intelligent energy management systems can help coordinate electricity use, enabling widespread electrification while maintaining reliability & avoiding costly infrastructure upgrades.
PGE: Christopher Moris, Chief Grid Architect at PG&E
Itron: Mike Ting, Senior Product Manager
Building Decarbonization Coalition: Panama Bartholomy, Executive Director
SPAN: Alex Pratt, VP Business Development at SPAN
2pm - Fireside Chat with PG&E Sit in on an engaging & insightful conversation between Aaron Johnson (PG&E, Senior Vice President, Local Customer & Community Engagement) & Morgan Campbell (Former Director SF Climate Week)
3pm - Panel: Energy Resilience & Microgrids
As climate impacts intensify & outages become more common, energy resilience is becoming a top priority for utilities, cities, & critical infrastructure. This panel will explore how microgrids & distributed energy systems are strengthening energy security & enabling communities, campuses, & critical facilities to maintain reliable power during disruptions.
4pm - Panel: Grid Modernization & Grid-Enhancing Technologies (GETs)
As renewable generation, electrified buildings, & EVs increase demand on the grid, utilities are looking for ways to unlock more capacity from existing infrastructure. This panel will explore how grid-enhancing technologies & advanced monitoring tools are helping operators optimize the grid, accelerate clean energy integration, & build a more flexible & reliable power system.
5p - 6:30pm Programming will conclude with networking & a happy hour.
Presented by PG&E
