We're thrilled at Ledger to host Dan Moroz at the EF offices next Thursday.
Dan holds a PhD in Computer Science & Economics from Harvard & recently joined Exa as Chief Economist. We'll discuss the future of search & the business models emerging around AI.
Search as a product is evolving, & so are its unit economics.
For 25 years, ads have paid for search. A person types a query, sees sponsored results, & never pays a cent.
AI agents don't look at ads. They run dozens of queries per task, read full pages, & move on. Every call still costs compute, but there's no ad impression to cover it. The customer has to pay directly.
A fundamentally different customer demands a fundamentally different pricing model.
Exa sells credits, much like the prepaid minutes the telecom industry settled on.
Join us if you're a founder or engineer building at an AI startup.
