Join us this April as we're joined by Jess McKay, MSW, civic design researcher & applied behavioral scientist, who uses use behavioral design & user research strategies to create seamless user experiences for those accessing public benefit programs.
In this meeting, Jess will be sharing about the National Association of State Workforce Agencies' work on helping state agencies improve access & equitability of public benefit programs.
About Jess McKay, MSW:
I use behavioral design & user research strategies to create seamless user experiences for those accessing public benefit programs. I have 4+ years of experience designing products, rigorous evaluations, & research projects for government programs. Currently, I work at the National Association of State Workforce Agencies where I get to do cool work with states across the country.
I also code & love roles that allow me to find ways to creatively combine my data science & design expertise! My data science expertise ranges from predictive modeling to creating interactive data visualizations to designing & analyzing data from randomized controlled trials.
Capacity-Building & Training: I love finding ways to make learning a new skill accessible & sustainable for individuals, organizations, & communities. I started my career as a Teacher with the US Department of State's Fulbright Program & have been finding ways to teach ever since. I'm an Adjunct Lecturer at Stony Brook University's School of Social Welfare. I've also designed & facilitated capacity building workshops.
