The best ideas for product innovation come when we put ourselves in a customer's shoes to really feel their pain points & understand how they experience the product. Often times, processes can make sense to product managers & their teams who built them, but they may be confusing, complicated or time consuming for the customer. Can we really improve products without experiencing them for ourselves? In this session, StubHub CPO, Arnie Katz, discusses the importance of empathy in product management.
About the Speaker: Arnie Katz's emphasis on data-driven & customer-focused decision making, extensive experience modernizing platforms, & increasing development velocity is an asset to StubHub in his role as chief product & technology officer. Arnie most recently served as vice president of International eCommerce at Walmart, where he was responsible for product, technology & design, & led a globally distributed team developing eight eCommerce platforms. Prior to this role, he was the senior director of customer experience & innovation for the Online Grocery program at Walmart eCommerce. Before joining Walmart, Arnie was co-founder & president of Relay Foods, an online grocery company that enabled customers to shop healthy, responsibly sourced groceries online. Arnie earned an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business & a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Technion in Israel.
