We'll have free quality pizza & drinks starting at 6:30pm. Come early & network with our members, other engineers, interested parties, & possible consulting clients. A Zoom option for this hybrid event is at www.CaliforniaConsultants.org
This talk will explore the evolution of traditional data warehouses into modern lakehouses, driven by advancements in AI & machine learning (ML). Included will be an examination of the limitations of first-generation data warehouses, which were optimized for structured data & batch processing, but which struggled with the unstructured, real-time data required for AI applications. These warehouses have evolved into data lakes to support the increased demands of AI/ML workloads, while addressing their challenges for business intelligence (BI).
In this talk, Suresh Bysani will describe the lakehouse architecture, which integrates the best of data lakes & warehouses by offering a unified platform for real-time analytics & ML. The talk will also dive into the latest in-product analytics development, as well as how AI-driven queries are reshaping how organizations provide insights directly through their products by leveraging AI for more interactive & intelligent decision-making.
Suresh Bysani is responsible for leading core SaaS & AI infrastructure at Eightfold.ai, managing platform & infrastructure for a B2B2C product with 100 million active users. He oversees search, data, OLAP, serving stack, & AI infrastructure. With over a decade of experience, Suresh is passionate about scaling systems.
Suresh was previously an early engineer at Cohesity, a distributed data platform providing Backup as a Service (BaaS). At both Cohesity & Eightfold, he has worked closely with Fortune 100 & 500 companies by helping to solve complex infrastructure challenges at scale.
