What Do Clients Want? Law Firm AI Governance
Clients are writing AI rules for their law firms: outside counsel guidelines that ban public AI tools, insurance carriers that require approval for each AI use or reserve the right to audit it, procurement questionnaires that ask how AI use is controlled. What does it take to meet those rules, & to prove you did?
We will bring real, published client AI requirements. Pick one & build an approach to it: the policy, tools, workflow or checks a firm would need, & how it would show the client it complied. Or show a governance tool you use or have tried, from approved-tool lists & logging to governance platforms & things you built. Laptops open; no coding required; demos encouraged. ICME Labs will show how PreFlight lets firms prove to clients that their AI followed the rules, without disclosing client data.
We finish with the group's map of what clients are asking for, the approaches that work, & the gaps nobody has solved yet.
Our first session brought 47 legal engineers to Falcon Rappaport & Berkman to test which AI tools invent case law. This one turns to the rules clients are writing for the firms that use AI.
Date: Thursday, October 15, 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Location: Meeting Room A, 40 Wall St, 28th Floor, New York.
Legal Engineers NYC is a hands-on group for people who turn law, policy, & practice into the workflows, agents, evals, & controls that run legal work. We meet weekly on Thursdays in Manhattan, laptops open, & build something each time. Any platform counts, & no coding required.
Legal Engineers NYC is organized by ICME Labs & led by cofounder Houman Shadab. Contact houman@icme.io to host or sponsor a session.
